• Payment information: Details needed to complete a bill payment (e.g. meter number, decoder number, account reference). We do not store full card details.
• Verification information: Depending on your account tier, we may collect your BVN, NIN, and/or residential address to verify your identity. See the Account Tiers section below.
• Device & usage data: Basic information like your device type and how you use the app, to help us fix issues and improve the experience.
• Support messages: Any messages you send us when you need help.

PaxPay uses a tiered verification system to protect users and prevent fraud. The more you verify, the more you can do on the platform.

Verification information is used solely to confirm your identity and prevent fraud. It is never sold or shared beyond what is necessary for this purpose.

• Process and confirm your bill payments.
• Verify your identity and prevent fraudulent activity on your account.
• Send you receipts and payment notifications.
• Manage your account and keep it secure.
• Respond to your support requests.
• Improve and fix issues with the app.
• Send occasional updates about PaxPay — you can opt out at any time.

3 Data Sharing

We do not sell your information. We only share it when necessary:

• Billers & payment processors: To complete the transactions you initiate.
• Service providers: Such as cloud hosting and email delivery, who help us operate PaxPay.
• Legal requirements: If required by law or a valid government request.

Any third party we work with is required to handle your data responsibly.

4 Data Security

We take reasonable steps to keep your data safe — including encrypted connections and secure storage. If you ever suspect unauthorized access to your account, reach out to us at support@paxpay.ng immediately.

5 Data Retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal information from our systems, except where we're required to keep certain records by law. Payment transaction records may be retained for record-keeping purposes.

6 Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. To make a request, email us at support@paxpay.ng. We'll respond within a reasonable time.
